This contest is now over and Congratulations go out to Annie! Tune in next week for another edition of “Win It Wednesday” because you never know, the winner just might be you! This week’s edition of “Win It Wednesday” is celebrating Elvis’ life (since Monday 8/16 was the anniversary of his death) by giving away, to one lucky reader at random, a mug to the 2005 production of Broadway’s “All Shook Up” which starred fellow “Adaumbelle’s Quest” participants Alix Korey, Mark Price, and Anika Larsen, along with Cheyenne Jackson, Jenn Gambatese, Leah Hocking, Sharon Wilkins, Nikki M. James, and Curtis Holbrook. To enter, simply answer the question below. The winner will be announced at 5pm! Good Luck!

If you could cast Elvis in any Broadway show, what show would you cast him in and who would you cast as his leading lady/man?

On Thursday, April 1, 2010 I attended the WCBS-FM (101.1) radio’s Listener Party of the new Broadway musical “Million Dollar Quartet” at the Nederlander Theatre in New York City (41st Street between 7th 7 8th Ave). This fun, energetic, and rockin’ new show seems to have it all…a stellar cast, great music, and most of all high energy performances! The show tells the true life story of the famous recording session that happened on December 4, 1956 between Elvis Presley (played by Eddie Clendening), Johnny Cash (played by Lance Guest), Jerry Lee Lewis (played by Levi Kreis), and Carl Perkins (played by Robert Britton Lyons). The cast also features Elizabeth Stanley as “Dyanne” (Elvis’ girlfriend at the time) and Hunter Foster who plays “Sam Phillips” (the founder of Sun Records where the recording session takes place).

While at the listener party, I learned about the making of the show, what changes the creators made to the show after it’s Chicago run and just how much fun the actors are having. Below is a highlighted recap of the jam session as well as a montage of some of the music from the show. Sit back, relax and I’ll have more of a review of the show after I see it later this week, so stay tuned…
