On Friday, March 12, I went to see Chris Hardwick at Comix in New York City. A self-proclaimed nerd, Chris is the host of G4’s “Web Soup” and their resident tech correspondent on “Attack of the Show.” He is also a frequent round-table guest on “Chelsea Lately” as well as a freelance writer and  voice of “Otis the Cow” on Nickelodeon’s smash hit animated series “Back at the Barnyard.” His past TV gigs included being a contestant on USA’s “Studs” dating show, hosting the syndicated dating show “Shipmates,” and co-hosting MTV’s “Singled Out” with Jenny McCarthy. He’s been on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” “Comedy Central Presents: Hard ‘n Phrim,” and “CSI”. His film credits include “House of 1000 Corpses,” “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” and “H2.” Chris is also a contributing editor to Wired Magazine. For more on Chris be sure to visit his website: http://www.nerdist.com or follow him on Twitter.

With a quick-wit and stage presence, Chris really knows how to entertain an audience. He talked about his southern upbringing, including why all Cracker Barrels look the same, nerd stuff, and “Chelsea Lately.” After the show, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Chris for an interview.

1. Who inspired you to become a performer? Steve Martin.

2. Who is the one person you haven’t worked with that you would like to? Steve Martin.

3. What is your proudest moment? Winning celebrity Jeopardy, the year was 1997.

4. Do you have any strange or unusual talent that no one knows about? Juggling…shit now they know, why did I say that outloud?

5. Favorite way to stay in shape? Ex-er-cis-ing at the gym. Actually, I’ve been working with a trainer for like four years and he trains out of his apartment. He’s converted where his dining room would be into the work out area. It’s like that one “Rocky” where he just trained with that rickety wooden pull up bar. It’s awesome and he’s great and I love it.

6. Boxers or Briefs? Boxer briefs!

7. Favorite singer/musician? Radiohead.

8. Favorite TV Show? “Dr. Who?”

9. Favorite website? I’m not going to say my own, it’s actually not true. I love gizmodo.com.

10. Gobots or Transformers? Transformers! Gobots were shitty, poorly animated knock-offs. They were rubbery.

BONUS QUESTIONS:

11. Favorite ride at an amusement park? The Haunted House ride at Disneyland.

12. Books or Magazines? E-books (or audio books on iTunes/books on tape on iTunes)
