For her Broadway debut in “Coram Boy” (alongside Two-Time Tony Award Winner & fellow “Adaumbelle’s Quest” participant Jan Maxwell), Xanthe Elbrick received a Tony Award Nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play, a Drama Desk Award Nomination for Best Performance, and won the Theatre World Award. She received her second Drama Desk Award Nomination for her performance in George Bernard Shaw’s “Candida.” Xanthe trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and the Actors Studio Drama School in NYC where she received her Acting MFA. Prior to this, Xanthe graduated the University of Edinburgh with a Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Philosophy as well as being the Director of the Edinburgh Footlights Theatre Company. In 2001, Xanthe won the BBC Drama “Act Up” Award and made her television debut as “Miriam Jacobs” on “Doctors” (BBC). She is the voice of “Sith Sorceress” for Lucas Arts’ “Star Wars.” When not on stage or television, Xanthe can be heard on many audio recordings including Kristin Cashore’s young adult novel “Fire” and Cornelia Funke’s critically acclaimed “Igraine The Brave” for which she received the Publisher’s Weekly Listen Up Award. She can also be found photographing her many contemporaries and other clients at Xanthe Elbrick Photography.

1. Who or what inspired you to become a performer? My father.

2. Who is the one person you haven’t worked with that you would like to? Dame Judi Dench.

3. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? To doubt oneself is an integral and necessary part of an actor’s business. (Cate Blanchett)

4. If you couldn’t be doing what you are doing now, what career would you choose? Veterinarian.

5. Favorite place to rehearse on your own? My friend Allison’s lake house.

6. Favorite play/musical? “The Pillowman” by Martin McDonagh.

8. Favorite way to spend your day off? Walking my dog in the country.
