Joshua Rivedal is a man of many talents: he’s an actor, a playwright, and a producer. As an actor he has been seen as “Radames” in “Aida” and “Richard Loeb” in “Thrill Me” as well as on such television shows as AMC’s “FilmFakers,” “The Maury Povich Show,” and the Biography Channel’s “Celebrity Ghost Stories.” As a playwright, Joshua wrote (and co-produced) “The Gospel According To Josh” which was accepted into the Emerging Artists OMT Series and most recently featured in the 2010 Midtown International Theater Festival. Joshua’s new play, “It’s Good to be Home” was also independently workshopped in 2009. 1. Who inspired you to become a performer? I would say my parents and the greats, like Elvis and the Beatles. I saw them on television and thought these people are the best I’ve ever seen play, I’ve got to do what they are doing. I also knew I was going to be a performer when hand-held recorders were first in use, I was about 6 and I saw the video of this when I was about 10, but what I saw was that when I didn’t know the recorder was on, I was quiet, but when I noticed the recorder on, I’d become big and vibrant and acting up because I knew the light was on me.

2. Who’s the one person you haven’t worked with that you would like to? Al Pacino and James Earl Jones.

3. Do you have any rituals that you must do before a show? How do you decompress after a show? Before the show, I do a 10-minute breathing exercise, it’s called the Chuck Jones Method.  I do some stretching and yoga. Afterwards, I like to have a drink.

4. Do you have any strange or unusual talent that nobody knows about? I can smack my cheeks and make music.

5. Favorite item off the $1 menu? I love those nuggets or if I’m on the road, the McDouble.

6. Favorite way to spend your day off? I would love to go to The Met, have a couple of drinks out on the patio, and kind of just relax and socialize and then go to a botanical garden.

7. Favorite way to stay in shape? Taekwondo.

8. Boxers or Briefs? Boxer-Briefs. I combine the both for one powerful piece of underwear.

9. Favorite website? The Gospel According To Josh or CNN.

10. Superman or Wonder Woman? Wonder Woman, she’s way hotter than Superman.


11. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Be yourself, who else are you going to be.

12. If you could dream about anyone while you sleep, who would it be? I would say Angelina Jolie.
